2025 has been busy! I am so grateful for those of you that have trusted me to give you quality headshot images that show your range as an actor/performer. I strive to create custom sessions for each client. It’s important to present yourself as a professional and high quality images are the first step. Different managers/casting agents want different styles. The preference for a certain “look” can also vary from city to city and I am happy to accommodate any type of image that is requested or I can help you figure out what works best for you as an actor.
Going through my archives recently I stumbled on a series of photos I shot with one of the best models on the planet. The talented Trisha O’Connell. She was a NYC model in the 1990’s. We tested together a few times and I ended up working with her on many magazine editorial jobs. These images were done with a film that was only made for a short time. It was produced by Polaroid, you would shoot it, run it through a special machine (that you had to hand crank) and the final product was a slide. It had very muted colors and was very grainy, it was a look I absolutely loved.
This lovely lady with a unique look, needed her first set of headshots for acting. She had plenty of lovely modeling images that show her dramatic bad-a$$ self. Acting headshots, however, are not meant to be just “pretty pictures” so we tried to show more of her personality and not just her beauty. She did her own makeup for our session. Here are a few samples.

Reed is on his way to New York after signing with his new agency. He is primarily a fashion model but his management company requested some acting headshots as well…and trusted me to give him some images to get him started auditioning.

I started this project as personal work, but am finding that clients are responding to this type of shoot and want me to create a special session just for them. It’s meant to appear as a fantasy image so much of the looks are created in post production.

Although I shoot a lot of actor headshots with a more commercial feel, recently I have had more requests for theatrical headshots. I am enjoying the change to a bit more dramatic, simple lighting and backgrounds that really let the strength of the subject’s features take center stage.

These adorable young ladies are new to acting/modeling and needed some images to show their amazing personalities (and that breathtaking hair!) I think I gave them a range of images to use as their first marketing materials.
